After 5 years at MAL I took a job as Creative Lead at Snap Inc., the parent company of Snapchat. As a Creative Lead I oversee a team of writers and designers supporting various marketing efforts, from brand campaigns to product launches to branded content.

Open Your Snapchat.

Open Your Snapchat was our second ever brand campaign for the brand. As the world's largest augmented reality platform, Snapchat has amassed millions of Lenses to help you express yourself, have fun, and share the moment.

The campaign invited everyone to open their cameras to scan QR codes to launch hundreds of different AR experiences all through their Snapchat camera.

Snap Partner Summit 2021

On May 20, 2021, Snap Inc. returned for the third year of its annual keynote, Snap Partner Summit.

In collaboration with Brand New School, I was the creative lead overseeing all things Camera for the event.

Inclusive Camera

Cameras were originally designed to properly expose white skin, leaving those with darker complexions quite literally in the shadows. With hundreds of millions of users taking billions of photos every day on Snapchat, our team at Snap created the Inclusive Camera initiative so that our camera could work for all skin tones.

Connected Lenses

Snapchat is the most innovative camera in the world, and nowhere is that more apparent than with Connected Lenses, an AR experience where users can connect in a shared virtual environment through their camera. We partnered with LEGO so Snapchatters everywhere can chat, play, create and rebuild the world with their friends through Lenses — whether they’re across the room or across the world.

To Android, Love Snapchat.

The Snapchat user experience on Android was always notoriously buggy. So when Snap finally decided to rebuild the entire architecture of the Android version of the app from the ground up, we decided to renew our vows with a series of short animated vignettes.

These little animations focused on the Snapchat ghost (Ghost Face Chillah) and the Android robot (Bugdroid) getting back together like old friends making up for lost time. I was the creative lead at Snap on this project and oversaw the production with Logan, the animation studio that handled the production.

Lens Fest

A couple years ago, Lens Fest started as an intimate gathering of passionate Lens Creators. This year, we expanded our audience to include Creators from all corners of the globe for the three day virtual event.

The next generation of AR is here.

At their event in the fall of 2020, Apple announced a breakthrough development in camera technology with its inclusion of a LiDAR scanner for the iPhone 12 Pro.
⁣⠀
This experience allows iPhone users to interact with their environment in realistic and intelligent ways.

Through Lens Studio, a free-to-download software from Snap., developers and augmented reality creators alike can build these AR experiences.

I lead my team to create a video announcing Snap's integration with this technology to launch in tandem with the announcement of iPhone 12 Pro.

Snappy Holidays

Because 2020 was a year of doing everything virtually, we wanted to give Snapchatters the chance to celebrate the holidays as festively (and safely) as possible. My team and I created several AR Lenses including a socially-distant family photo generator and an ugly Christmas sweater that doubles as a face mask. We also made a cheesy infomercial to spread the  holiday cheer!

The Ghost

This project was part of a larger branding exercise we did for the redesign of our logo, The Ghost.

City Painter

In the fall of 2020, Snapchat has launched Local Lenses – a collaborative augmented reality tool that allows friends to paint digitally using city buildings as canvases.

We debuted our first City Painter experience at Carnaby Street in London, England and plan to roll out more in the coming months and years.

Here is a behind the scenes look at the tech that makes City Painter possible.

Lens Studio Website Relaunch

In the Spring of 2020, we re-launched the website for Lens Studio, the augmented reality software from Snapchat.

I oversaw the creative direction of the site's design as well as the video on the homepage.

Snap Partner Summit 2020

On June 11, 2020, Snap Inc. returned for its second annual Snap Partner Summit for developers, publishers and influencers alike.

Because of shelter in place orders, the entire event was held virtually and shot on a soundstage with state-of-the-art AR technology.

In collaboration with Buck, I designed and produced many of the event's sections and videos, including Camera, Platforms and Games.

Bitmoji TV

Bitmoji is a Toronto-based company behind those little personalized cartoon avatars used daily by millions. Last year they had a big idea— a cartoon TV series that stars you and your friends.

For the launch of the series, I lead my creative team to produce animated mobile ads and design merch for influencers and entertainment journalists alike.

Season one was a huge hit, with tens of millions of subscribers tuning in and making animation history.

Real Friends.

In 2018, Snapchat was faced with a unique business problem-- it had more offerings than ever but it was losing its caché in the marketplace. Consumers were forgetting what made the platform so valuable in the first place. So our team developed the first-ever globally integrated marketing campaign for the brand to hone in on the app's core product value: Snapchat is a place for talking with pictures with your real friends. We wanted to anchor our product in one-to-one messaging rather than its place among other social media. The result was a series of films with real friends talking about their experiences with one another on Snapchat.

Watch all the films from the campaign here.

Snap Partner Summit

In 2019, Snap Inc. launched their first ever conference for developers, publishers and influencers alike. My team and I produced the entire event including the launch of Snap's first ever mobile game, Bitmoji Party.

Lens Studio - Unlock Your Imagination

Lens Studio is a free-to-download augmented reality software that allows users to make filters for Snapchat. Launched in November of 2017, we wanted to follow up with the community that was starting to emerge in the months after its initial release.
This documentary series took us across the country to the homes of these AR creators who shared their experiences creating with the product.

Introducing Snappables

With Snappables, face filters became gamified for the first time. Instead of sending pictures back and forth, friends could now play games with their faces. In this spot, Snapchatters compete against one another using their face as the joystick.

Lens Fest 2

Snapchat's AR creative community, AKA the Official Lens Creators, convene every year on Snap's campus for Lens Fest.

I lead the creative direction of the event, from the visual identity to the keynote video that opened the festival.

Snapchat AR Lenses

Finally, no story about Snapchat would be complete without talking about filters. We had a ton of fun making Snapchat Lenses for a few notable partners, such as The United Nations, Android and Missy Elliott.
